UX Design Expert Kristin Wynholds Joins Our Team

With a highly regarded career designing products for startups, growth and enterprise companies, Kristin leads Better’s product design and branding functions as Head of Design.

Kristin is a Silicon Valley native and a veteran of the tech industry since 1996. She brings twenty years of experience leading cross-functional teams and building innovative digital products to her role at Better. A strong advocate for rigorous user-centered design, she ensures the clinical team’s most ambitious treatment ideas become elegant, buildable software. While her main focus is creating an engaging product that will provide personalized digital treatment plans to patients with cardiometabolic disease, her goal is to design a connected ecosystem of applications to serve each primary healthcare constituent - patients, providers, and payers.

Kristin joins the Better team from Carbon Five, a digital product development consultancy, where she was most recently Principal UX Designer. During her tenure at Carbon Five, Kristin led more than 30 client engagements, including healthcare clients Stanford Health, Guardant Health, and Grand Rounds. Prior to that she worked with venture firm Canaan Partners as a design consultant for their partners and portfolio companies.

A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kristin studied psychology and fine art. She was formerly an instructor at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and now runs private product design salons for entrepreneurs and founders. She is a mentor, a mother, a sculptor, and an enthusiastic but mediocre vegetarian chef. She is based out of San Francisco, where you can find her chasing after her daughters and her four-legged child in the city, at the beach or in the woods.
